Ray Honeycutt founded Honeycutt and Associates after a successful career of over 25 years in Information Technology and Business Leadership. Ray has a passion for providing leaders the tools they need to move their organization forward. His experience in business, government, and in non-profits has provided insights into the challenges many organizations face. Ray has been involved in leadership roles in a variety of organizations for over 20 years.
Ray is an entrepreneur, having started, grown and sold a successful IT consulting firm. Ray owned or managed HCS Systems for over 10 years, which by his departure had annual sales over $7 million. Ray knows the challenges faced by small business owners as they make difficult decisions for their business everyday.
Ray and his team have many years experience providing IT consulting and support services in large enterprise-class environments. He has worked with partners such as IBM, where his team was responsible for supporting one of the largest student information systems in the world, and also one of the largest Oracle Forms applications in the world. He has been deeply involved in IT infrastructure management, planning and support on an enterprise basis for many years. Ray spent over 10 years in IT management positions with the State of North Carolina. While there, Ray was responsible for several major initiatives, including the creation of a managed IT platform service offering which had a huge impact in improving quality of service while reducing costs. Ray was also instrumental in the implementation of an enterprise-wide directory service for the State of North Carolina, which at that time, was a first for any State, and one of the largest directory services in the world.
Ray has also been involved in leadership roles in a variety of not-for-profits and churches. He spent over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and was one of the founders of the Rescue Squad for his community.
Ray has a heart for serving others both in the US and abroad by helping them meet their physical, as well as spiritual needs. He has organized or been a part of several missions trips to Latin America where he worked along-side local churches. Ray also works with the International ministry of Equip Leadership founded by John Maxwell. With Equip Leadership, Ray serves as an Associate Trainer providing leadership development conferences to church leaders in countries such as Argentina, Indonesia, and Russia. Ray has considerable experience in traveling internationally, having visited more than 15 foreign countries.
